Leeds United transfer news as permanent Diego Llorente exit update as Roma face ‘problem’
Roma will look to find a solution to the “problem” that is Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente’s long-term future in the summer, according to Voce Giallorossa.
The Italian outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (3 January) that the defender has been an “essential” part of Jose Mourinho’s side this season, but the most pressing issue in the January transfer window remains finding him a defensive partner.
Roma’s need for defensive reinforcement means that the Italian giants will discuss the Leeds loanee’s future in six months’ time, come the end of the Serie A season and the conclusion of his temporary stay in the Italian capital.

Not leaving yet
It seems as though Leeds United will have to wait until the summer to get Llorente’s enormous wages off of their books permanently as this report implies that Roma have little interest in sorting out his long-term future during the January transfer window.
The 30-year-old has been a regular part of Mourinho’s side in both the Serie A and Europa League, making a combined 22 appearances this season and even managing to pick up two assists in all competitions.
However, it has been clear for some time that he doesn’t have a future under the management of Daniel Farke at Elland Road and it appears as though the Whites would be very keen to rid themselves of defender permanently sooner rather than later.

Roma are reportedly able to sign the 30-year-old for a a figure close to £4.3 million this summer, with any prospective move becoming much more likely should Farke’s side miss out on an immediate return to the Premier League [Roma Metropolitan, 20 December].
Leeds will have to wait to be paid that fee until the summer and hope that Roma have the funds to make his stay in Italy permanent, otherwise, they’ll have to find another solution for Llorente next season.
