Leeds United transfer news as new timeline emerges for Lewis O’Brien Nottingham Forest exit
Leeds United-linked Lewis O’Brien is set to secure a loan exit from Nottingham Forest in the next few days, according to BBC Sport.
The publication reported on its website on Thursday (24 August) that the midfielder has been linked with both the Whites and fellow Championship club West Brom.
BBC Sport added that the 24-year-old is expected to leave the club temporarily following his recent loan at D.C. United.

“Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien is set to secure a loan move away from the City Ground before the transfer deadline closes next Friday night,” according to BBC Sport.
“O’Brien spent the first half of this year with MLS side D.C. United after he was excluded from Steve Cooper’s 25-man Premier League squad.
“The former Huddersfield man has returned to Nottingham but has been linked with both Leeds and West Brom over the past few weeks. It is expected he will find another club over the next few days.

Makes sense
Forest midfielder O’Brien temporarily moving to Elland Road for the new season makes absolute sense for all parties involved.
For Cooper, the player can maintain his fitness and his standards in a very competitive league, and could maybe come back as an important part of the puzzle at the City Ground.
For O’Brien, he can gain regular minutes at Elland Road given the lack of bodies Daniel Farke has at his disposal, while he could even gain heroic status if he could help the Whites secure immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
And as for the Elland Road club, they would be getting a talented midfielder in the door, one with top flight experience, and one who helps solve the aforementioned issue within the depleted squad.
The Whites have lost players all over the pitch this summer following their relegation to the Championship, but their midfield has taken a particularly big hit.
In other Leeds United news, a journalist has mooted a new signing at Elland Road to prevent one Whites player from “burning out.”
