Leeds United transfer news as Luis Sinisterra update emerges amid Brentford links

The reported interest from Brentford in Leeds United attacker Luis Sinisterra is not believed to be true, according to Pipe Sierra.

The Win Sports journalist reported on Monday (21 August) that there could be news surrounding the Colombian’s future at Elland Road this week.

The 24-year-old is understood to want out of the club after they got relegated from the Premier League last season.

Via Twitter, Sierra wrote, “The interest of Brentford for Luis Sinisterra (24) is NOT true. At the end of Leeds there are 3 possibilities that are being worked on. His wish is to add minutes to be in the Colombian National Team. This week there could be news regarding the future of the Colombian.”

Leeds are facing uncertainty over the futures of both Sinisterra and Willy Gnonto – two players who would be starting had their futures been clear.

The duo have woken up too late in the window to expect Leeds to give in to their demands and while Daniel Farke has said he won’t keep players who don’t want to be there, a financial aspect has to be considered as well.

It’s evident that both Sinisterra and Gnonto will both demand high transfer fees and it’s normal for Leeds to put a decent price tag on their head.

If clubs cannot pay that, they’re well within their rights to keep the two and the players are aware of how these things work.

No release clause means that the clubs have the final say and it remains to be seen what three possibilities are being worked on with Sinisterra.

If he can reach an agreement that he will leave next summer for a discounted fee if the Whites do not get promoted, that’s something that Farke is very likely to accept as well.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites need to table a ‘Convincing’ bid to sign a striker as EFL rivals’ stance emerges on his sale this summer.
