Leeds United transfer news as fresh twist emerges in Joseph Paintsil race

Fiorentina have now joined Leeds United in the race to sign Genk winger Joseph Painstil this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The British broadcaster reported in its transfer centre on Friday (25 August, 10:41am) that personal terms are not likely to be an issue for the Whites.

They are expected to beat the Serie A outfit in order to secure the services of the 25-year-old for a fee in the region of £8.5million.

Get it done

The Ghana international can play on the left, as a number 10 as well as down the middle so he’s going to be an important acquisition.

Given the numerous injury concerns in the Leeds setup, it makes sense to have someone who can fill in for multiple players.

He’s unlikely to just be a bench player and within a month, he should be among the first names on the team sheet.

For the money they are signing him for, he does seem the real deal and it’s good to see Leeds finally showing they’re a serious club in the window.

After bringing in Joel Piroe, this is the next big signing and it’s sure to get the fans excited who’ve not really had the best of time in the window.

They’ve seen key players leave, Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra force an exit and not enough new faces walking through the door so this must be refreshing.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
