Leeds United transfer news as Fabrizio Romano confirms Diogo Monteiro signing

Fabrizio Romano has shared that Leeds United have all but made the transfer deadline day signing of defender Diogo Monteiro from Swiss outfit Servette.

The transfer guru reports that a deal for the youngster is “done and sealed” after he completed medical tests at some point in the last 24 hours.

Romano confessed that Monteiro will be the departing Diego Llorente’s replacement, who is set to complete a loan-to-buy transfer to AS Roma.

“Diogo Monteiro has signed as new Leeds United player from Servette, deal completed after medical tests. It’s done and sealed,” said Romano on Twitter. (31 January, 7:03 AM)

“Diego Llorente will join Roma on loan with buy option worth €18m – and Monteiro will be his replacement.”

Leeds United

Twists and turns.

There has been plenty of twists and turns during this crazy Premier League transfer window and fans can expect to witness even more today.

Leeds United still may be in the market for another talent on deadline day, however, it is not clear yet the lengths they will go to make another signing.

No fan of the Whites, however, can argue with the business that has been done this month and Andrea Radrizanni, Victor Orta and co deserve a lot of praise.

Max Wober has potentially sorted out Leeds’ left-back conundrum, whilst Georginio Rutter and Weston McKennie display a statement of intent from the Whites for the coming seasons.

All in all, it’s looking very bright at Elland Road right now, despite the club’s poor league position, things can surely only get better with the new signings made.

Hopefully, fans will get to see more of the new signings in action when Leeds United face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on 5 February.
