Leeds United transfer news as contact could be made for Southampton striker Che Adams in January

Leeds United might make an enquiry for Southampton striker Che Adams in January as Jesse Marsch looks to strengthen his squad, according to journalist Dean Jones.

With Patrick Bamford still not fully fit and other talents not capable of carrying the weight of goals for Leeds United, a move for a forward makes sense.

The former Eurosport journalist confessed that if Southampton brings in another forward to the club in January it could open up a move for Adams to Elland Road.

“Southampton have got their own situation to consider at the moment, if they do go and sign another striker, you never know,” said Jones as quoted by GIVEMESPORT.

“They might just put an enquiry in just to see what can be done.”

Worth a punt?

Since joining Southampton, Adams has become a key player for the club, scoring 19 goals in 63 appearances. Adams is known for his pace, strength, and clinical finishing ability, making him a valuable asset for both club and country.

His potential availability makes him an interesting prospect for the Whites to consider, especially with the dire need for a new forward at the club.

His lack of goals during his career is a slightly worrying point though, although, this is something he has improved on this campaign, scoring eight goals in 17 games.

Scoring, however, hasn’t been much of a problem for Leeds United so far this season, with the team sitting in the top ten for goals scored with 23 to their name.

Nevertheless, it’s still widely thought that signing a new forward would be a worthwhile move and making one for someone who is already Premier League-proven makes a lot of sense.

In other Leeds United news, the club is thrashing out terms for an early January signing after this player jetted into the UK for a move.
