Leeds United transfer news as club in constant contact to seal Nicolo Zaniola move

Leeds United are in constant contact with AS Roma over the potential transfer of midfielder Nicolo Zaniola, according to Get Football News Italy.

The report claims that Roma wants to sell the maestro permanently, however, Leeds United are currently looking at an initial loan deal with an option to buy the Italian.

Get Football News Italy also report that the midfielder was keen on a move to London to join Tottenham, but they refused to meet Roma’s demands.

“According to sources contacted by Get Italian Football News, Leeds’ contacts with Roma have been constant today morning and the situation is similar to how it was yesterday,” as quoted by Getfootballnewitaly. (31 January)

“The Giallorossi want to sell the player permanently, with Leeds currently looking to offer an initial loan deal with the option to buy the Italian permanently.

“Zaniolo was linked with moves to other Premier League sides such as Tottenham, Brighton and Bournemouth. While the Cherries had an offer accepted by Roma, the player rejected the move. He was keen on a move to Spurs, but the London club could never meet Roma’s demands.”

Picking up pace.

This transfer story is picking up pace and it’s looking likely that Zaniolo may swap the colosseum of Rome for the hills of West Yorkshire.

And the Italian would be a fine addition to Jesse Marsch’s engine room, an area on the pitch that is starting to look stacked at the moment.

It’s unclear what part Zaniolo would play in this current Leeds United outfit, although, if the club are willing to splash out on him, it’s likely he’d feature fairly often,

Roma clearly wants to get rid of the midfielder and this could play in the favour of the Whites as the transfer deadline clock ticks down to 11 PM.

Let’s just see how this one unfolds, any move for Zaniola could largely depend on whatever Jack Harrison’s situation is by the end of today.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported on 31 January that Harrison was still being chased by Leicester City something which would affect Leeds’ movement late into deadline day.
