Leeds United transfer news as Brighton attacker Facundo Buonanotte set to leave as Ansu Fati to join from FC Barcelona

Brighton attacker Facundo Buonanotte is set to be shown the door amid links to Leeds United and Ansu Fati joining from Barcelona, according to Sussex Express.

The South Coast media outlet reported on Friday (1 September) that the imminent arrival of Ansu Fati from Barcelona will see the Seagulls allow the 18-year-old to leave on loan.

The same publication reported on 21 August that Leeds were in talks to sign the Argentina international and were even favourites.

Sinisterra/Gnonto replacement?

While Buonanotte is an attacking midfielder, he can also play out wide and cut inside to be a real threat to opposition defences.

Brighton have an eye for talent and he’s already done well for the first team even though he hasn’t played too much.

Fati’s arrival will put him down the pecking order at the Amex Stadium and the Seagulls will not want his development to be halted.

If Luis Sinisterra or Wilfried Gnonto leave on deadline day, one of which is very likely, he could come in as their replacement.

“When he brakes and accelerates he reminds me of Messi,” Carlos Tevez said about the teenager after Rosario beat Barracas last season, as reported by Rosario3.

If he can have that sort of impact in the Championship, Leeds will have an even better chance of securing promotion the first time of asking.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has spoken about Luis Sinisterra potentially leaving Elland Road on transfer deadline day.
