Leeds United transfer news as Bournemouth progress with Alex Scott deal

Leeds United will not be fans of Bournemouth as they appear to have stolen a march on yet another transfer target in the last 24 hours.

According to the Athletic on Wednesday (9 August), the Cherries were set to sign Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott with a medical set up for him.

The same article mentions how the Whites saw their proposed move for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons hijacked by the south coast club.

90 Min reported in April that Leeds wanted to sign Scott and he had been linked with a move to Elland Road for a number of months before that.

Given the number of midfielders that have left the Whites, signing the 19-year-old certainly would’ve been an option that they would have considered.

However, Bournemouth seem to have secured a move for yet another transfer target and the decision makers at Elland Road will be fuming at this.

This is also an eye-opener that they’ve got to quickly get these deals done as there are clubs in top leagues and capable of paying more money than they can.

The new season has already begun and just two first-team signings have been made thus far and Daniel Farke clearly will not be impressed at the pace in which things are moving.

Scott now is now no longer an option but that does not mean that they should end their pursuit of bring in a new central midfielder this summer.

In other Leeds United news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign two centre-backs this summer with a winger now on the radar as well.
