Leeds United transfer news as bidding war possibility detailed to sign Swansea striker Joel Piroe
It is a possibility that a bidding war could be sparked for Swansea striker Joel Piroe with Leeds United keen on signing him, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The Leeds-based newspaper reported on its website on Wednesday (23 August) that the Whites cannot afford time but there is a chance of this being drawn out into the final week of the window as well.
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas even claimed that the Whites were in talks to sign the 24-year-old Dutchman with Leicester and Southampton also keen on him.

Move it along
Leeds have already left it way too late in the summer to make a serious pursuit of a new number nine.
They cannot afford to waste any more time in getting a new forward in and ideally, someone should be signed by the weekend.
With Piroe, it seems unlikely as he’s still got to agree on personal terms while the two sides have to negotiate a fee as well.

Swansea are unlikely to name a lower transfer valuation as they know of the number of clubs keen on securing the striker’s services.
They will be in it to make as much money as they possibly can so a resolution on this will be reached closer to the transfer deadline.
Leeds will be hoping that they can sign him as he could be an important acquisition that helps guide them back to the Premier League.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
