Leeds United transfer news as Ajax and Atalanta want Jack Harrison
Leeds United winger Jack Harrison is being targeted for a transfer by Dutch giants Ajax and Serie A outfit Atalanta, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.
GIVEMESPORT reports that Harrison’s days at Elland Road could now be numbered, something which Jacobs has echoed with his transfer revelation.
Jacobs confessed that Harrison is on the radar of Atalanta and Ajax, with the Dutch club keeping tabs on the silky Leeds United ace since the summer.
“I know that there are clubs who he is still on the radar for,” said Jacobs as quoted by GIVEMESPORT. (20 January)
“In particular, away from Arsenal, there are even a couple of European teams that are looking as well.
“Atalanta are one of them and I’m also told that Ajax have been keeping tabs on him since the summer.”
Worth the debate.
Harrison staying much longer at Elland Road is worth a debate, with the player being quite inconsistent in his form and injury prone, is he deserving of a new bumper contract?
Tie that in with the emergence of Willy Gnonto and the Englishman is starting to look like a surplus to requirements for Jesse Marsch and Leeds United.
Some will point to Harrison’s performances at the end of last season, some of which were fairly decent and he definitely played his part in the Whites staying up.
Nevertheless, the longer his contract discussions go on, the more speculation surrounding his departure there will be and the hierarchy’s unwillingness to hand him a new deal straight away may speak volumes.
And let’s face it, with Leeds United making two fairly big moves, by the club’s standards already this month, some player sales may be needed to balance the budget.
This one feels like a transfer story to keep an eye on for sure.
