Leeds United transfer news as add-ons claim emerges on Joel Piroe

Leeds United will be paying a multi-million fee to Swansea if they get promoted to the Premier League as part of the Joel Piroe deal, according to Wales Online.

The British media outlet reported on Friday (25 August) that the Whites will have to pay up to £3million to their Championship counterparts in add-ons.

The total valuation of the deal is £12million with Leeds announcing the signing of the 24-year-old Dutchman on Thursday.

Good deal?

If that’s indeed the add-ons fee then it’s pocket cash for Leeds as they will be gaining so much more by getting promoted to the Premier League.

The broadcasting revenue is second to none and that can see them build on this side and become an established top-flight club.

Piroe is a striker who’s proven that he can cut it in the Championship and that’s the signing that gives Leeds a very good chance of bouncing straight back up.

He’s also at the ideal age where he’s not just a short-term fix but can be at the club for the better part of the decade.

Daniel Farke’s talent ID must be commended as he’s only brought in solid players who genuinely strengthen the first team.

Leeds also have not overspent on players which proves that they’ve done a good job in the market but there’s still work left to be done.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
