Leeds United transfer business earns high praise from Simon Grayson

Leeds United have wasted no time in making some big moves in the transfer market this summer and Simon Grayson is loving it.

The announcement of Luis Sinisterra on Thursday (7 July) was the Whites’ sixth new signing of the 2022 summer window with Tyler Adams announced just a day before.

The former Feyenoord and RB Leipzig players followed Darko Gyabi, Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson through the doors at Elland Road as Jesse Marsch stamps his authority on the squad.

Grayson, a former Leeds United player and manager, now manages Indian Super League side Bengaluru but keeps a close eye on the club his career began at and is very pleased with what he has seen.

“Been a good off-season with signings, well done,” Grayson wrote in response to a Leeds United Instagram post. “Let’s hope they all click and make it a less stressful season than last year.”

Keep going

We have indeed had a very good off-season in the transfer market but there is no reason for us to stop now if we want to go from relegation candidates to top-half chasers and beyond.

Marcelo Bielsa was famous for enjoying a pretty small squad and he was forced to play a lot of the academy graduates as a result when they all ended up broken from his murderball tactics and intense training.

Marsch came in too late into the season to be able to change any of that but in his first transfer window as Leeds manager, he has been backed to the nines by Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani from the get-go.

That’s why we have been able to get all of our primary targets with little fuss and it is something we need to keep on going until we can’t any longer.

Not only was Bielsa’s squad small, but a number of the individuals within it were not up to standard which should mean a few sales open up even more doors for new faces so we could be talking transfers for some time yet.

In other Leeds United news, one player who could be heading for LS11 may get his blessing to leave as these European league champions are closing in on his replacement.
