Leeds United ‘tracking’ FC Cincinnati forward Brandon Vazquez
Leeds United are desperate to land a striker, and they are “tracking” FC Cincinnati forward Brandon Vazquez, as per journalist Ben Jacobs.
The CBSSportsGolazo journalist shared on Twitter on 14 August that the 23-year-old forward is one of the strikers being looked at by the Whites.
Jesse Marsch is a big fan of the player but he is seen as a long-term option for the club.
Jacobs wrote on his personal Twitter account: “Cincinnati’s Brandon Vazquez another forward being tracked, but told unlikely Leeds will move this summer. 15 MLS goals this season and USMNT cap very possible soon. Marsch (is) a fan but he’s a long- not short-term option (and solution).”
Too many options
Leeds have done extremely well in the transfer market so far, but they are not done yet.
The Whites are still looking to add a striker to their ranks, while the club is also exploring the possibility of adding another left-back.
Leeds are being linked with Southampton’s Che Adams and Blackburn Rovers’ striker Ben Brereton Diaz, as per the same journalist, but Vazquez seems an interesting option.

The 23-year-old is enjoying a fantastic season in the MLS where he scored 15 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.
However, it seems unlikely that the Whites will move for him this summer, although Marsch is an admirer of his talent.
It remains to be seen what type of strikers Marsch actually wants to bring. Is he looking for an experienced Premier League player who can make an instant impact or is he searching for a young talent who can develop alongside Joe Gelhardt?
The progress of young Gelhardt is equally important for the club, and that’s why they have to be very careful with their next move.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites now have a clear run to sign a £20m-rated left-back as their Premier League rivals have now bowed out of the race.
