Leeds United track West Ham starlet Sonny Perkins and Birmingham City midfielder George Hall in U-18 tournament

Leeds United reportedly tracked English duo, Sonny Perkins and George Hall, in an U-18 tournament in June.

Both players have been on the Whites’ radar for a couple of weeks and they kept an eye on them as their side England won the four-team tournament.

Croatia, Austria and Wales were the other teams in the tournament and Perkins and Hall featured regularly in it.

Via his personal Twitter account, LeedsLive’s Joe Donnohue wrote, “LUFC tracking England U18 duo George Hall (B’ham City) and Sonny Perkins (West Ham Utd). Both involved throughout this youth international tournament.”

Solid core

If Leeds manage to sign these two players, they will be building a solid core of youngsters for the future generation.

These are two of England’s most talented youngsters who will only get better with time.

Thorp Arch has been exceptional in terms of the development of youngsters and the two could benefit a great deal from moving there.

Of course, Perkins is already at an established Premier League clubs that plays European football so convincing him is going to be a lot harder.

However, if Leeds can promise him direct entry into the senior side with eventual progression to the first team then he could be tempted to leave the Hammers.

But, it’s just as important to make signings for the academy as it is for the first team as the youngsters are often turned to during injury crises as seen in the 2021/22 season.

In Leeds United news, an under-the-radar court case involving the transfer of a Leeds player has reached its conclusion with the final payout revealed.
