Leeds United top-two prediction made by supercomputer after Championship development
Leeds United have been predicted to finish in the Championship automatic promotion places ahead of Ipswich Town, according to Opta Analyst.
Their supercomputer has suggested that the Whites still have a 15.3 per cent chance of winning the league, while a second-place finish is more likely at 44.6 per cent.
It has been a positive season for Daniel Farke’s side but in recent weeks there have been some frustrating results and these may have harmed their promotion chances.
A 4-3 win on Monday night (23 April) against Middlesbrough was far from comfortable but was the three points the Whites needed.
Will Leeds United get automatic promotion?
Leeds’ promotion chances are not in their own hands as Ipswich and Leicester City have a game in hand over them.
Farke’s side travel to face QPR on Friday (26 April) and by then they will know the result of the Foxes who face Southampton three days before.
The Whites also have to welcome the Saints to Elland Road on the final day of the season where they could earn promotion.
What might swing the finish in favour of Kieran McKenna’s side is that they have had a two-week break. They also have to face a struggling Huddersfield in their final fixture.
With that being said, Opta’s supercomputer has suggested that Farke’s men will finish second and secure a place in the Premier League.
The sticky spell of form for all three sides has certainly affected the run in and it might go down to the last day.
Leeds fans can be hopeful of automatic promotion given the stats that will have been used to make this prediction.
