Leeds United ‘to wait on Joe Rothwell replacement’ as agent breaks silence

Goztepe midfielder Anthony Dennis may be a name ringing around Elland Road this summer, as Leeds United already have transfer plans in place.

Daniel Farke’s team will play Premier League football next season after winning automatic promotion, and they’ll arguably need to bolster their squad soon.

Dennis has been linked with a move to Elland Road, with the West Yorkshire outfit making an approach to sign the Nigerian ace.

With speculation surrounding the 20-year-old’s future, the star’s representative from Elite Project Group have broken their silence.

Dennis interest from Leeds United being treated with caution

With Dennis attracting interest from Elland Road, his representatives are being cautious about a decision on the midfielder’s future, Eddie Bonsu says.

The senior consultant at Elite Project Group revealed that they’ll evaluate what’s best for the Nigerian youngster and make a decision on his future soon.

Bonsu isn’t surprised to see the likes of the Whites wanting to sign the 20-year-old, but only time will tell where he’ll end up in the coming months.

Speaking to Africafoot (28 March), the midfielder’s representative said: “He’s a high-quality player, and it’s no surprise his name is being mentioned in the major leagues. We want the best for Anthony, now and in the future, so we’re approaching everything with caution.

“As for his future position next season, we’ll make the best decision and see. In the end, all parties involved will be satisfied; let’s wait and see.”

Joe Rothwell to leave Elland Road soon

Joe Rothwell will leave Elland Road at the end of the season, with his loan move from Bournemouth set to expire.

The Englishman has been a pivotal player for Farke this season as the Whites have achieved the goal they set out to achieve at the start of the campaign.

Ao Tanaka and the 30-year-old midfielder were key for the German manager, while Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Grue were on the sidelines.

With Rothwell on his way out soon, the West Yorkshire outfit could potentially sign his replacement in the coming weeks.

Farke must be backed at Leeds in the upcoming transfer window, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make wholesale changes to their squad.

The Whites will need to handle the pressure that comes with promotion to the Premier League, and it wouldn’t make sense to have a stacked team.

After injuries to Ampadu and Gruev, the West Yorkshire outfit were forced to sign Josuha Guilavogui on a free transfer in October.

The Peacocks won’t want to have a lack of depth in the upcoming campaign, as it could cost them heavily, but who they’ll sign remains to be seen.
