Leeds United to step up transfer efforts for Arnaud Kalimuendo

Leeds United are readying a new assault on Paris Saint-Germain starlet Arnaud Kalimuendo with interest high in the striker, according to the Daily Mail.

The Whites have already submitted a bid of £16.9million for the 20-year-old [The Independent] but that was rejected by the French champions who are looking for a fee closer to £21.1million [L’Equipe].

The race to sign Kalimuendo has heated up in recent days too with billionaire-owned Newcastle United thought to be leading the race as of 12 July, as reported by Media Foot.

The Magpies are thought to have sent a mandate over to the Parisiens but Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta are not content with letting their Premier League rivals win so easily.

As a result, a newly invigorated offer from Elland Road could be sent to the Parc Des Princes soon although conditions are still to be discussed with the player himself.

Pay up

There should be no hold-up whatsoever in paying whatever transfer fee PSG demand because we will get it back in either goals or cash further down the line.

He has already proven his ability in the best leagues in Europe having scored 12 times in Ligue 1 while on loan at RC Lens last season who aren’t even a side battling near the top of the table.

He could easily come to Elland Road and make a similar impact from the start and with every season he spends in Yorkshire, he will score more and more until we can sell him for a massive profit.

With the exception of a left-back (especially now with Junior Firpo injured again), a striker is all we have left to sign to complete Masrch’s overhaul of the Leeds United squad and this might be the best signing of the lot if we can stop the Toon from taking over.

In other Leeds United news, Orta has already been in contact with the father of this World Cup winner over a potential free transfer switch to Elland Road.
