Leeds United set to sign off on new George Hall transfer in January
Leeds United are on the verge of securing the signature of Birmingham City maestro George Hall with the midfielder set to join the club in January, according to TEAMtalk.
The England Under-19 star is set to make the leap to the Premier League and is highly rated amongst the Elland Road hierarchy, as Birmingham struggle with takeover issues.
Teamtalk journalist James Marshment confessed that Leeds United have had a long-term interest in the “star” having tried to sign him during the summer transfer window.
“Sources have told TEAMtalk that Birmingham midfielder George Hall is set to sign for Leeds in January,” announced journalist James Marshment on Twitter.
“Whites have long-standing interest in England U19 star with player viewed as big star in the making.”
First one down.
In what will be a frantic transfer window for the Whites it seems the club have made their first move ahead of the January window opening.
And the move for Hall could be an extremely savvy one, he’s a top talent and could be involved in Marsch’s engine room for seasons to come.
With Mateusz Klich likely to be on his way out of Elland Road, a move for a new maestro seems like the right move to make and they don’t come with much more potential than Hall.
It looks like the failed takeover of the club by Paul Richardson and Maxi Lopez could force the cash-strapped Blues to sell Hall.
With luck, Leeds United capitalise on the Blues’ woes and makes Hall one of their marquee January signings, this could prove to be a very shrewd bit of business.
Leeds and Marsch will likely give Hall every chance to impress in first-team action should he join the club and this will likely entice him into making a switch even further.
