Leeds United to offer four-month deal and bonuses to former Watford manager Javi Gracia
Leeds United will reportedly offer a four-month contract along with bonuses for keeping them in the Premier League to Javi Gracia.
According to the Daily Mail [20 February], Spanish manager Rafa Benitez is now not in the running to take over at Elland Road.
The same publication in an article earlier claimed that the Whites had reached out to the former Liverpool manager while other names were also being considered.

Makes sense
Gracia will need some incentives if he’s going to be offered a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Managers like taking on long contracts as they know that the average span at a job is not more than two seasons and they get a good pay-off if they’re back.
However, if the former Watford manager does not live up to his goals, he will not need to be sacked as his contract will expire.
That being said, if he’s confident in his credentials as a manager, he will take a bonus that is similar to what he would be compensated with if he were to get sacked.

This will also protect Leeds’ position as they will be making a lot of money by securing Premier League status for next season and paying Gracia will not be a hassle at all.
Talks are ongoing with the Spaniard and as we do not see any other better options willing to take over at Elland Road, appointing him until the end of the season may not be the worst idea in the world.
