Leeds United to meet Roma in coming days to negotiate Diego Llorente transfer

Leeds United will reportedly be meeting with Roma to discuss the price for the permanent transfer of Diego Llorente this summer.

According to Forza Roma [27 April], an exit is on the cards for the Spaniard, 29, this summer, but an agreement with the Italian side is not guaranteed.

They do not intend on paying the £16million that was pre-determined as he moved to the Italian capital on loan in the summer.

Cash in

The Whites need the money to strengthen the first team in the summer, hopefully under a new manager and they can generate a decent proportion of it from player sales.

Llorente appeared to be a good signing at the time but it did not work out for him at Elland Road and he seems to be enjoying life in Italy.

He picked up an injury recently but apart from that, he is one of Jose Mourinho’s first names on the team sheet and has had an instant impact there.

He can also go on to win a European trophy with Roma in the latter stages of the Europa League so it’s not a move in January that he regrets.

There’s a very good chance that he would fancy moving there permanently and it seems like all three parties want this deal to happen.

Leeds fans will be delighted that talks have begun ahead of the transfer window and that can help them budget for potential incomings.

In other Leeds United news, a close friend of a Whites player who has been embroiled in controversy has shared his regrets after what happened recently.
