Leeds United to make 49ers takeover contact this morning, announcement verdict drops

Leeds United are expected to make contact regarding the takeover process this morning, before deciding whether to move forward with their new announcements, according to a report on LeedsLive.

The report states that Leeds will be in contact with the takeover process as they wait to get a new era underway, but may announce the manager regardless if they can get the go-ahead from current owner Andrea Radrizzani, as they are keen to get him working as quickly as possible.

With regard to transfer news, it is reported that Nick Hammond (Leeds’ interim football advisor) has been pushing ahead for more than a fortnight, with the takeover deal seemingly irrelevant to their early transfer deals – although more certainty would surely help.

The club need clarity as soon as possible

The takeover of Leeds United by 49ers Enterprises has been more long-winded and complicated than many would have expected after the deal was announced on 9 June, with the details dragging out and now affecting the staff and squad as they begin pre-season shrouded in uncertainty.

While the takeover will surely be approved by the EFL, the delays to the situation aren’t helpful for anyone, as Leeds look to move forward with pre-season preparation for their Championship campaign, with promotion the target.

The club will look to announce their new manager as soon as they can but will look for clarity regarding the takeover before they do, as they may need to approach Radrizzani for permission, causing further confusion amongst the fanbase.

Leeds fans need clarity just as much as the club do, as what was always expected to be a turbulent summer following their relegation from the Premier League looks to have hit every possible hurdle on its way down.
