Leeds United to hire Director of Football before Sam Allardyce successor at Elland Road
Leeds United will reportedly bring in someone to fulfil the role of Director of Football before finding the Sam Allardyce’s successor.
According to LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross, whoever the majority shareholder at the club is at the time, which depends on Premier League survival, will be calling the shots.
Andrea Radrizzani could still be the one deciding if Leeds go down and he decides not to sell at a lower price.

Relying on the Q&A, Cross wrote, “We don’t know what is written into that sale agreement with 49ers Enterprises. If there are no conditions on a sale in the Championship then the PL price and a January 2024 deadline remains in place.
If 49ers don’t want to pay that amount of money for a second-tier outfit, which of course they would not, then Radrizzani is calling the shots. He can either look to sell at a lower price or choose to risk more of his money on a far-from-guaranteed shot at promotion before returning to a higher sale price.
“Whoever ends up being the majority shareholder, they would surely then look to a DoF before that appointment then looks at a head coach they rate. That all takes time though and the best coaches will not be available for long.”
Makes sense
Currently, Spurs are looking to hire a manager and then bring in a sporting director which will defeat the purpose of having someone in the position.
A sporting director is one who needs to decide what kind of manager comes in based on the style of football and goals that particular club might have.
Victor Orta got too loyal to his approach and his type of signings did not particularly work out for the Whites and he eventually had to be shown the door.

Leeds need to bring in someone at the top of their game to fill in a position that’s just as important as getting in the right manager.
Brighton’s behind-the-scenes structure was so phenomenal that even after losing Graham Potter, the new manager just carried on from where he left it.
This is what Leeds should aspire to do as the Seagulls have achieved that without spending a great amount of money as well.
In other Leeds United news, an exit-bound senior player was spotted in tears after what happened recently.
