Leeds United to finally green-light Willy Gnonto exit from Elland Road as £8.7m January transfer twist emerges
Leeds United are set to hand Willy Gnonto the green light for an exit from Elland Road in January, according to Il Romanista.
The Italian news outlet, sharing on 29 December reports that Gnonto asked to leave Leeds United last summer but no move materialised. However, in a fresh new twist, the Whites are set to sanction a sale in January.
Gnonto is currently priced at 15 million euros (£13m) but it cannot be ruled out that Leeds United will be willing to sell for just £8.7m next month with Serie A outfits Lazio and Fiorentina currently on the hunt for his signature.

Former club Inter Milan are “out of the way” currently but are still monitoring Gnonto’s situation with the former FC Zurich wonderkid still a fan of the Serie A champions.
Wow
It certainly appears as if Gnonto still wants to leave Elland Road, especially now after his limited opportunities under Daniel Farke, making just 6 starts in the Championship this season which could derail his chances to feature for his country at next summer’s Euros.
After everything that went on in the summer, it’s hard to say that Leeds fans will be shocked that Gnonto reportedly wants to leave again.

He gave his all to push his way out at the start of the season and the 49ers held firm and made it crystal clear that he wasn’t for sale, but that stance has now been softened.
It’s clear, Gnonto’s long-term career in West Yorkshire may well be over but he’s still got qualities which could be incredibly useful elsewhere.
It’s a shame his time at the club will be ending this way but there is no use keeping an unhappy player for the crucial stages of the season to come and it’s best the Whites receive a decent fee for his services.
A healthy profit is certainly guaranteed now after this latest development.
