Leeds United to avoid risks with Tyler Adams, expected to be out for season – Injury Expert

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Tyler Adams can be safely ruled out for the rest of the season for Leeds United despite them being in a relegation battle, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes that three months is the upper limit for the recovery of someone who’s had hamstring surgery.

With the United States international undergoing his operation in late March, the end of June seems like a plausible return date for him.

However, the season will be ending in the last week of May and the 24-year-old still hasn’t officially been ruled out by the Whites.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Adams, “He had hamstring surgery in late March and the typical return there is 10-12 months [end of June] so it’s pretty safe to say he is ruled out.

With the summer break coming up, I’d be surprised if Leeds want to bring him back for this season and potentially jeopardise a summer of training.

Yorkshire Evening Post (23 April) reported that Adams had been given a leave from his rehabilitation to go on holiday with his partner.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has also stated that there’s a high possibility that the American midfielder does not feature again this season.

Thus far, Leeds are yet to officially rule him out of contention before the end of May.

In other Leeds United news, sources have shared a brand new update on the San Francisco 49ers takeover which has led to the revelation that Andrea Radrizzani could now stay on for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
