Leeds United to announce new staff soon after Mark Jackson exit
Leeds United are set to announce new staff soon after Mark Jackson left boss Jesse Marsch’s coaching staff to take on his first head coaches role at MK Dons.
Jackson impressed Marsch as soon as the American arrived at Elland Road and was promoted from his Under-23s role to the first team last season.
Sporting Director Victor Orta has spoken out on the news of Jackson’s departure from the team confessing that he’s “sad” to see Jackson leave but delighted that he’s taking the next step in his blossoming career.
“Whilst I am sad to let Mark leave us, this is a great opportunity for him to go and experience being a head coach and he deserves to take this next step,” Orta said, as quoted by YEP.
“Not only has Jacko been instrumental in progressing many of our young players, but he has also been a really important part of Jesse’s team. We will always be grateful to Jacko and I am sure that the fans will always welcome him at Elland Road.”
A statement from Leeds United read: “Everyone at Leeds United would like to thank Mark for his efforts and we wish him nothing but success in the future. An update on his replacement will be announced in due course.”
Crucial month for Marsch.
Marsch has implemented a high-pressing, attacking style of play that has yielded positive results in recent Premier League fixtures but also highlighted defensive frailties.
The American has also shown a willingness to give young players a chance in recent friendlies and may integrate them into the first team more often in the next few months.
Changes in coaching staff never help matters in a crucial month for Marsch and Jackson will evidently be missed if Orta’s glowing comments are anything to go by.
Nevertheless, it seems a replacement has already been lined up with the club releasing a statement saying an appointment is imminent.
It doesn’t get much harder than returning to Premier League action on 28 December against a formidable Manchester City side.
With luck, facing the Citizens after a long break will be the best time to scrape some points off of them, the Whites have nothing to lose in the fixture.
