Leeds United tipped to sign Champions League record-breaker Maurits Kjaergaard
Leeds United have been tipped to sign RB Salzburg midfielder Maurits Kjaergaard as per a report in the Daily Mail (17 October).
Daniel Farke’s side remain in the hunt for a promotion spot come the end of the season and their business in the January transfer window may prove pivotal to their hopes.
Kjaergaard is a highly rated Danish midfielder who has Champions League experience and became the youngest player from his country to score in the competition.
Leeds have been identified as one of his possible destinations should he leave the Austrian giants with Premier League outfits Nottingham Forest and Wolves also mentioned.
The report in the Daily Mail reads: “Kjaergaard has pedigree and exposure on his side. He has been in the prodigious Red Bull system for his entire senior career and plays regularly in the Champions League, becoming the youngest Dane to score in the competition three years ago in a harrowing 7-1 defeat at Bayern Munich.
“Possible landing spots: Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Wolves.”
Leeds need to add quality this January
If Farke’s side are to have a real chance of winning promotion, a successful January window will be massive for their hopes.

Not only will Leeds have to retain their star players, with the likes of Willy Gnonto undoubtedly attracting interest, but they will also have to work on incomings to provide cover but also additional quality to the starting XI.
The Championship looks set to be another competitive division with Sunderland, Leeds and Sheffield United among the clubs who have enjoyed successful starts to the season, the former currently occupying the top spot.
Kjaergaard would be a player that would immediately improve Leeds’ midfield and he is a player with a huge ceiling that would benefit the Whites in the short term on the pitch but also in the long term financially.
Should Leeds pursue a deal, it is highly unlikely they would be the only club to do so.
