Leeds United tipped to seal Daniel Farke move amid impressive Phil Hay update

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Leeds United have been tipped to hire former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke by Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay reported on 13 June that the 46-year-old German has “impressed” Elland Road chiefs after holding initial talks.

Robinson feels his track record in the Championship makes him an attractive proposition for the decision-makers in West Yorkshire.

“You can see the reasoning behind that one. You look at his track record, he’s won promotion out of the Championship before,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“He’s done it before, he knows the league. He knows how to get out. Steven Gerrard would be a long-term appointment if you got out of the Championship. If they take you to the Premier League, they are staying.

“Whereas Farke or the like, that’s a manager that’s good enough to get you out of the Championship. Is it good enough for the Premier League, probably not, then you’d have to change again.

“If you appoint Farke in the position the club is in now, there’s one aim. Everyone’s aim is to get out of the second tier. You can understand why give a manager like him an opportunity.

“Is he a long-term appointment, no. Could he get the club out of the Championship, absolutely.”

In other Leeds United news, Kieran Maguire has reported that there is doubt within the 49ers group over the takeover after “expensive” relegation.
