Leeds United tipped to hand Adam Forshaw contract by Sky Sports pundit, he’s the ‘perfect fit’

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has urged Leeds United to agree a new contract with midfielder Adam Forshaw with the 31-year-old currently in negotiations.

Forshaw was released from his current deal, but has been invited back to pre-season training and is currently in talks over a new deal (Daily Mail, 12 June).

Robinson believes the former Brentford man is the “perfect fit” for any side looking to achieve promotion from the second tier.

“I think Adam Forshaw is an excellent leader. He’s had a tough time with injuries but he’s the type of player you want in and around the dressing room,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“For him, he’s missed a lot of football, he’s just got back into playing again, I think a season in the Championship could be a good thing.

“He’s the perfect fit. He’s a leader on an off the field. He’s a great character and if he can stay fit he will be an absolutely fantastic addition.”

The 31-year-old featured 13 times in the Premier League last season and was a prominent figure towards the backend of the 2022/23 campaign.

He featured in all four of Sam Allardyce’s games in charge but could help the Whites avoid a return to the Championship.
