Leeds United ‘tight timeframe’ emerges amid Elland Road manager talks
Leeds United face a “tight timeframe” when it comes to appointing their new head coach, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
The Whites remain “locked” interviews with potential candidates with Carlos Corberan and Daniel Farke two of the options the board are looking at (The Athletic, 14 June).
Scott Parker has also been considered but Leicester are also considering making an approach. Leeds now face a race against time with the majority of their senior players to return on 2 July.

Brendan Rodgers was also considered for the role, but the former Liverpool boss doesn’t want to drop into the Championship.
Rodgers mistake
Rodgers’ decision-making makes no sense. He’s reluctant to drop down to the second tier but happy to move back to Scotland – where the majority of teams would struggle to survive in the Championship.
If he moved to Leeds, there’s every chance of him steering the club back into the Premier League and beyond. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forwards. Unfortunately, Rodgers is unwilling.

Farke would seem the most sensible option. He’s had success getting teams out of the Championship before whilst implementing a decent brand of football. He’s reportedly impressed Leeds chiefs, so this is an appointment that could well be on the cards.
With Celtic now out of the equation, the board have a clear run at the Norwich manager. He was unfairly treated at Carrow Road having steered the Canaries to the Premier League. Things haven’t exactly worked out well since his exit in East Anglia.
In other Leeds United news, Kieran Maguire has reported that there is doubt within the 49ers group over the takeover after “expensive” relegation.
