Leeds United the 'main focus' of QSI after blockbuster takeover development

Leeds United are the “main focus” of Qatar Sports Investments’ Premier League interest, according to TEAMtalk.

It’s understood QSI, who also own PSG are looking to purchase a Premier League club having previously shown interest in Leeds (TEAMtalk, 12 January).

Tottenham have also been viewed as a club which they could look to invest in as they look to make their next big-money move.

However, It’s believed they are extremely interested in buying out Andrea Radrizzani’s majority share in Leeds and that their “main focus” is on the Yorkshire side.

This is potentially huge news for Leeds moving forward. Much has been made of the 49ers taking over at Elland Road and it appears they’re facing some issues. For whatever reason, the takeover hasn’t materialised as of yet and there are clearly other parties who are showing an interest in the Yorkshire side.

Investment from the QSI could see the club really start to bridge the gap to the big six teams in England. Leeds are certainly an attractive proposition for any potential investor. The fan base is notoriously large, they have immense history, and could be the ideal candidate to bridge the gap to the biggest clubs in England.

However, considering how long the takeover of the club has dragged on, this could well follow suit. Takeovers of Premier League football clubs are extremely detailed procedures and it appears the Yorkshire giants have found themselves at the heart of another ownership saga.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are keen on signing this Wolves player in January.
