Leeds United target Rasmus Kristensen claims not to know about impending transfer

Ramus Kristensen does not yet know about his impending transfer to Leeds United as he hasn’t spoken to his agent while with Denmark, he told Bold.

The defender came on as a 60th-minute substitute as the Danes stunned world champions France at the Stade de France in the Nations League on Friday (3 June).

He has asked to be kept cut off from discussions over a transfer from Red Bull Salzburg until he is finished with his international duties, but believes there may be news waiting for him when he is.

The Telegraph reported on Thursday that the Whites had reached an agreement on personal terms and that a deal was in place to make him the second signing of the summer after Salzburg teammate Brenden Aaronson.

When asked by Bold if he had spoken to Leeds or his agent he said [translated from Danish]: “I have not spoken to him in recent days.

“It may be that he’s waiting to tell me something so I can stay focused on the national team these days. I have asked to be barred from getting information until I have to make a choice.”

He went onto say about United: “I do not need to Google Leeds United to know about that club. There is both a former teammate and my former coach who has switched to them.

“It is the world’s best league, and it will be huge to get a foot in there.”

Marsch man

The defender is set to be the second Jesse Marsch disciple to arrive at the club this summer as the ownership set about backing their manager.

That should aid in their ability to settle in quickly, and the American to implement the style of football he wants after inconclusive results during an up and down fight against relegation.

With the fee apparently around £10million he appears to be pretty good value if he can hit the ground running in the Premier League.

Kristensen sounds like he probably knows more than he’s letting on as he certainly appears pretty motivated to make the move.

Victor Orta and his team appear to have been hard at work in the weeks leading up to the end of the season to put deals in place that could be worked on closing soon after the conclusion.

Going into the final day the club were in the relegation zone so the victory over Brentford and the last-gasp escape has meant that work didn’t go to waste.

In other Leeds United news, Chelsea have appeared on the radar as a club which might spell more trouble for the Whites this summer.
