Leeds United target Josh Brownhill discusses Burnley exit speculation

Leeds United summer target Josh Brownhill admits that he is happy at Burnley while keeping the door open for an exit.

According to Burnley Express, Leeds were among a host of Premier League clubs keen on signing him over the summer.

However, despite the Clarets’ relegation, he ended up staying on at Turf Moor.

He said, “You hear of all sorts of things that go round, especially when the transfer window is open, rumours fly around, but for me I think everyone has seen from day one that I’ve got my head down and worked hard.

“Whatever happens, happens, but for me I enjoy what we’re doing this year and the manager has given me a lot of confidence. It’s the football that I want to be playing and for me to be playing at my happiest, at this moment in time, it’s at Burnley Football Club.”

With Kalvin Phillips leaving, it was important for the Whites to sign a couple of midfielders as they hadn’t signed any for the last few summers.

They brought in Tyler Adams and Marc Roca and also Brenden Aaronson who plays in an advanced role as a number 10 or even an inside right forward.

Unless Mateusz Klich leaves, Leeds do not really need to sign another midfielder and if they do bring in anyone in January.

Brownhill is a decent player who would certainly add value to the Whites side and Marsch will definitely keep tabs on him as long as he’s available.

However, we do not see them pursuing his services in the next 12-18 months so it’s pointless to even expect him at Elland Road.

The club will look to either sign a left-back or a striker before they can think of signing another midfielder while a centre-back may also be on the cards.
