Leeds United target Emmanuel Dennis set to join Nottingham Forest this week
Leeds United must out a last-gasp hijack attempt to try and sign Emmanuel Dennis from Watford before he moves to Nottingham Forest.
The Whites have tried and failed with their pursuits to sign both Charles De Ketelaere and Arnaud Kalimuendo this summer.
Despite being nearly two weeks into the season, they have not yet finalised a move for a striker and are understood to be keen on signing one sooner rather than later.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna said via Twitter, “Emmanuel Dennis 🇳🇬 in Nottingham Forest, it’s almost done! Advanced stage negotiations between all parties. The deal could close this weekend.”
According to former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, the Nigerian was one of the players that Leeds could sound out as they’re desperate for attacking reinforcements.
However, that does not seem to have happened so far as they’ve gone on to make attempts to sign unassailable players.

There’s a very real chance that Dennis moves to Elland Road if Victor Orta and co touch base with his representatives and chalk out lucrative terms.
There are no guarantees that Forest will stay in the Premier League next season while Leeds look to be investing money in the right places to ensure that they’re far away from a relegation dog fight.
Whether or not they do enter the market for Dennis at this late stage, remains to be seen as Forest do seem confident of getting it done.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites now have a clear run to sign a £20m-rated left-back as their Premier League rivals have now bowed out of the race.
