Leeds United target Charles De Ketelaere could be 'final' signing of the summer
Leeds United have done some outstanding business this summer, and it seems they will make just one more signing before the window closes, as per Graham Smyth.
The Yorkshire Evening Post wrote on 7 July that Charles De Ketelaere “has all the hallmarks of a very good player”, and he is the right kind of signing for the “final and arguably most important vacancy”.
The Whites have bolstered their defence, midfield and attacking areas, but adding a striker to their ranks is essential after Partick Bamford missed the chunk of last season through injuries.
HLN reported on 6 July the player prefers a move to Serie A giants AC Milan instead.
The Whites will try their best to land the exciting Club Brugge attacker, and the club are ready to pay big for him.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of a massive £30 million offer from the Whites but the Belgian is said to be very keen on joining the Italian champions this summer.
He wants to play Champions League football and it will be really difficult for Leeds to pull off a deal.
Smyth probably suggested that the Whites would sign a quality striker to wrap up a fabulous window.
One cannot help but wonder will the club not try to find a suitable replacement if Raphinha leaves at some point.
Surely, the club should add at least one more attacking midfielder if the Brazilian leaves. The saga is so difficult to predict and it could go either way.
At the moment, it seems, that adding a striker would be the “last senior addition” for the club this summer.
