Leeds United: TalkSPORT commentator wowed live on air by ‘magnificent’ Patrick Bamford after what he did v Norwich
Ian Danter was blown away by Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford after his “magnificent” header to put them 1-0 up against Norwich City on Wednesday (24 January).
The Whites head into their Championship clash at Elland Road on Wednesday evening looking to close the gap between themselves and the automatic promotion spot to two points with a win.
And Daniel Farke’s men got off to the perfect start when Dan James delivered a brilliant cross for the in-form Bamford to bag his fourth goal in five games for Leeds United with a great header inside the six-yard box.
And Danter, speaking live on talkSPORT radio (24 January, 8:02 pm) could not believe his eyes at what he saw from the big-name Elland Road striker after his expert header.
He said: “Magnificent header from Bamford. He makes it four in five in all competitions and Leeds are well in the hunt for automatic promotion, good and proper.
“A Daniel James cross from the right-hand corner of the box and a free header dispatched brilliantly by Bamford. Leeds 1-0 Norwich.”
Tip-top form
Farke will be absolutely delighted by the form Bamford is in right now and that is shown by the header scored by a player who knows where the back of the net is.
It was a peach of a cross from James but Bamford still had a lot to do to make sure Angus Gunn in the Norwich goal had no chance with his header and he perfectly delivered with a superb header.
How Bamford has turned his Leeds United career around in recent weeks is so impressive given he looked a sure bet to be sold by Farke a couple of months ago given his limited opportunities in the squad.
The former Middlesbrough man is certainly proving why he is a big-name player at Elland Road and a Leeds fan-favourite given his exceptional purple patch right now.

Summer signing Joel Piroe may well have got the winner against Preston North End on Sunday but he certainly is being kept out of the XI by a man who deserves his first-team spot right now.
Tremendous turnaround by the Englishman and long may it continue.
