Leeds United takeover news as key 49ers Enterprises talks happen in recent weeks – Phil Hay
Talks between Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers Enterprises have intensified over recent weeks at Leeds United, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist has reported that the 49ers are keen to take majority control from the Italian, even if the Whites drop into the Championship.
It is shared that talks have centered around how the boardroom will look should Leeds drop into the second tier, something which is more likely after the 3-1 defeat against West Ham.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay shared the latest news coming from both camps as we go into the final weekend of the Premier League season.
“Over the past couple of weeks, talks between majority shareholder Andrea Radrizzani and minority group 49ers Enterprises have intensified about how the boardroom will look if relegation bites,” he wrote.
“A deal for Radrizzani to sell to 49ers Enterprises is already in place if Leeds stay up but the Americans are keen on buying control regardless and are actively discussing an arrangement which allows them to move to a majority position in the EFL.

Time to go.
Radrizzani has been nothing short of a liability over the last two years, and the time has come for him to go.
The Italian talked the talk, but forgot to walk the walk and Leeds are set to be the ones who are punished as they fall embarrassingly towards the Championship again.
After going 1-0 up against West Ham, things looked good, but the fitness and commitment of the players was shocking, and they cannot escape criticism too.
The spending of the club cannot be questioned, although the 49ers did help with that, but the decision-making along with the players that were brought in, has to be scrutinised.
It simply isn’t good enough, and taking off our fan hat, you have to say that Leeds deserve to go down based on what we have seen for the majority of this season.
Thankfully, the 49ers are ready to press ahead with their plans regardless, and that new dawn will likely begin with a rebuild in the Championship, somewhere these young talents could be unlocked.
All eyes are on Elland Road next week.
