Leeds United takeover: Hidden figures behind the scenes at Elland Road amid accounts reveal
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has suggested some people “hide behind” the 49ers’ takeover of Leeds United after the club’s accounts were released.
The West Yorkshire club’s financial report was published on Companies House on Sunday 8 April and is readily available to fans, journalists and experts.
The 49ers are set to take control of the club in 2024, and Robinson would like the purchase to be moved forward to the end of the 2022/23 season.

“Massively [should takeover be move forward], it’s been hanging over the club for a long time now,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“A lot of people hide behind the potential takeover, investment and the influx of money that will come when it’s taken over. I don’t understand why it’s going to take so long.
“You see other football clubs get taken over and it happens very quickly. I know there’s a level of investment now from the 49ers.

“But if the club are going to stay in the Premier League and invest the money is not going to come from Radrizzani, it has to come from elsewhere, which is looking heavily like it’s going to be the 49ers.
“I can’t see why putting off the deal benefits anybody.”
There’s been plenty of talk surrounding the takeover of Leeds, with The Daily Mail even suggesting (5 January) that there was Middle-Eastern interest.
However, at present, it appears that American enterprises will be spearheading proceedings at Elland Road in the very near future.
In other Leeds United news, the decision has been made for the club to splash the cash this summer.
