Leeds United takeover announcement close amid Andrea Radrizzani ‘rumours’ – Finance Expert
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire believes an announcement regarding a Leeds United takeover is close, with owner Andrea Radrizzani rumoured to be buying Sampdoria.
The suggestion from Maguire comes as Whites owner Radrizzani is “locked in advanced negotiations” over a revised deal to sell the club 49ers Enterprises, according to Sky Sports.
The revision follows the club’s relegation to the Championship after their 4-1 loss to Tottenham on Sunday (28 May).

“There will be an impact,” said Maguire, as quoted by Sky Sports. “That will have been factored into the price the 49ers were willing to pay.
“There are rumours Andrea Radrizzani, the Leeds owner, is looking to buy Sampdoria. I think we will see an announcement in terms of [the Leeds takeover] accelerate.
“Whatever’s going to happen to Leeds over the summer, it’s absolutely essential we have owners in place who can set a budget, stick to that budget and make key decisions in terms of management and player recruitment.”

Busy summer ahead
There is so much to do at Leeds this summer, with all of the decisions made even more difficult due to the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Things wouldn’t have been quite so bad had they managed to secure their safety in the top flight, but they couldn’t pull off a final-day miracle against Tottenham.
Nonetheless, the 49ers seemingly remain keen on their purchase, which is definitely welcome news to Leeds and all associated with the club.
All fans want now is for the deal to finally go through, and for the new owners to forge some stability at Elland Road, with a new manager and director of football perhaps top of the list.
Immediate promotion to the Premier League is, of course, the priority, but that won’t happen if the aforementioned positions are not filled, and importantly are not filled quickly and suitably.
It was a miserable campaign for the West Yorkshire outfit, but this deal should ensure that there should still be reasons to be excited for a prompt return to where they belong.
