Leeds United: Supercomputer predicts who will win title amid latest Championship developments

Leeds United will finish the Championship season on 94 points, according to the latest Supercomputer predictions.

The predictions have been shared by The Athletic, with the publication reporting on its website on Thursday (22 February) that Leicester City will finish top with 103 points.

Leeds have been predicted to finish second with their tally, followed by Ipswich Town in third and Southampton in fourth.

“Opta estimates that Leicester will finish on about 103 points, Leeds on 94, Ipswich on 91 and Southampton on 90,” according to The Athletic.

Can Leeds United maintain their strong Championship form?

It has been another roller-coaster Championship campaign so far, with four clubs now seemingly involved in a race at the top.

Leicester are, however, running away with first place, with the Foxes currently in pole position with 78 points.

The Whites and the Tractor Boys are their nearest rivals, with both clubs on 69 points, with the latter now firmly back on track after a troubling run.

The former have been very steady for some time now, with Daniel Farke’s side producing win after win. But there has been a lack of consistency at Southampton, with a run of mixed results seeing them drop down to fourth.

With Leicester having essentially already clinched the league title, it will be very interesting to see how the next three places play out over the coming months.

The trio of Leeds, Ipswich and Southampton may not have given up on top spot just yet, but it is the automatic promotion spots that will surely be their priority now.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has speculated Crysencio Summerville talks at Leeds after what Fabrizio Romano said on Christmas.
