Crysencio Summerville reacts to message from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink after Liverpool win

Crysencio Summerville is the man of the moment at Leeds United right now after he fired home the winner at Anfield in a 2-1 victory against Liverpool last weekend.

Jesse Marsch has backed the young winger during the absence of Luis Sinisterra and Summerville seems to be passing every test right now.

The Dutchman revealed he received many messages on social media after his heroics at Anfield but it was Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s name that caught his eye.

“To be honest I didn’t read all the messages but I saw one, I think he is a legend of Leeds, Floyd Hasselbaink,” he said speaking on Leeds United Official Podcast.

“I saw it and I was surprised because I heard some things about him.”

Summerville etched his name into Elland Road folklore with his goal against Liverpool but fans need to be patient with the youngster.

Hopefully, the goal and messages from legends like Floyd Hasselbaink will instil some confidence in the 21-year-old moving forward.

Everything is looking positive for Summerville right now though and it’s this oozing of confidence that can take him to the highest levels of the Premier League.

Expectations have now gone through the roof and rightly so, but hopefully, this affects the Dutchman in a positive manner.

With Sinisterra still out on the sidelines, Summerville now has the chance to fully cement his spot in Marsch’s starting XI starting against Bournemouth.

When he is back fit, it will at least give Marsch two menacing forwards to use at will, the pair could be rotated for the deadliest effect.

We’ll have to wait and see if Summerville gets the start now against the Cherries, although it’s hard to see past Marsch choosing anyone else right now.

In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta have started scanning the market for potential upgrades on Jesse Marsch at Elland Road
