Leeds United submit official bid to sign Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter
Leeds United have reportedly submitted an official bid to secure the services of Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter in January.
According to L’Equipe [7 January], the Whites have offered £26.4million in order to sign the Frenchman, 20, at the Bundesliga outfit.
He is understood to have a high ceiling and he is now their priority as they look to bring in a number nine before the window closes.
The 20-year-old just has two league goals this season so if the Whites see him as someone to address their woes in front of goal, he probably will not be able to do that.
The Whites need a proven goal scorer who walks into the playing eleven and is an upgrade on the players around him.
While we’re hoping that the Frenchman is that, early suggestions are that he’s perhaps a decent striker but not someone who can hit the ground running and bag a handful league goals.
Investing in a player’s potential is certainly important, but right now, Leeds ideally need someone in his prime who can fire them out of this relegation battle.
In their first season back up, Patrick Bamford’s goals helped Leeds a great deal and even saw them finish in the top half of the table.
Getting in someone similar who will stay fit and also regularly find the back of the net should be the priority for the Whites.
