Leeds United submit bid to sign Fenerbahce striker Mergim Berisha
Leeds United have submitted a bid to sign Fenerbahce striker Mergim Berisha, according to Omar Celikbasli.
The SPOR journalist wrote on Twitter on 24 July that the Whites have submitted a bid of around £1.7 million, while Fenerbahce are demanding a fee in the region of £4.25 million.
German clubs Stuttgart and Mainz are also in the race. Leeds are in “negotiation” to sign the forward, who has netted 68 goals in his club career.
He wrote on Twitter: “Leeds United have offered 2 million euros for Mergim Berisha. Fenerbahce demanded 5 million euros from Stuttgart and Mainz as it wanted. Negotiations continue.”
Back-up
This has been an incredible summer transfer window for the Whites, despite losing two of their best players in Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

They have bolstered their defence and also their midfield areas.
Now, the biggest task that remains is to add quality options in the forward department.
Patrick Bamford is the first-choice striker but he missed a major chunk of last season through a series of injuries.
Joe Gelhardt is another option but he is too young and raw.
Adding one or two strikers is necessary. Leeds have been heavily linked with a move for Charles De Ketelaere, but it seems the Whites are looking at more options.
Last season (2021-22), Berisha scored four goals and provided one assist in 22 league appearances. He was impressive for RB Salzburg in the 2020-21 season, where he scored 22 goals in all competitions.
It is available at a decent price, and Leeds shouldn’t face any problem in getting the deal done.
