Pascal Struijk contract news is 'tremendous' as journalist reacts to Leeds United update
CBS Sports journalist Jake Winderman reacted to the news that Pascal Struijk has put pen to paper on a new Leeds United contract until 2027.
This will be music to the ears of the Elland Road faithful as the centre-back with heaps of potential has chosen to extend his stay in West Yorkshire.
Winderman confessed on Twitter that the new contract for Struijk is “tremendous business” from Leeds United and represents a bright future in the centre-back positions at the club.
“Tremendous business by Leeds United,” exclaimed the CBS Sports journalist on Twitter.
“Struijk, Koch and Cresswell represent a bright future at CB for Leeds United.”
Winderman isn’t wrong in his bright future prediction for the Leeds United defence and the fantastic contract development is a lovely update to hear.
The 23-year-old will now be playing the peak years of his footballing career at the Whites and can be crafted and moulded into what the team needs here and now.
With luck, this won’t be at left-back for much longer, even though the young defender has done a decent job filling in the position this campaign.
If a left-back is signed in January, will the Belgian’s playing time become restricted? Marsch seems to have his centre-back pairing nailed on already.
Although it’s likely Struijk’s versatility to play left-back, centre-back and in a holding midfield role that has ultimately led the club to give him a new contract, a trait that is priceless in the modern game.
Struijk was entering the final 18 months of his contract so it’s no surprise the club wanted to get him tied down to a fresh set of terms and this one seems like a solid deal for all parties involved.
In other Leeds United news, this player seems to be getting cold feet about quitting Elland Road.
