Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford faces late fitness test ahead of Fulham Premier League clash

Patrick Bamford will reportedly face a late fitness test ahead of the Leeds United v Fulham Premier League clash on Saturday, 22 April.

In his pre-game press conference, Javi Gracia was non-commital about the England international’s fitness but said that he could be available for the game.

Injury expert Ben Dinnery has now revealed that he will be undergoing a last-minute check with the Leeds medical staff deciding whether or not to give him the green signal.

Sell him this summer?

Since having an amazing season after Leeds got promoted, Bamford has faced numerous injury issues and it’s got to a point where he cannot be trusted to stay fit anymore.

Even when fit, he’s not really been a prolific goal scorer either so there’s no reason to take the punt on him beyond the end of the season.

There surely will be teams in the Championship that would not mind signing him and the Whites should consider selling him if there is a market.

They’ve got a number of young players coming up and with Joe Gelhardt out on loan and playing regularly, he certainly would want more first-team minutes.

Georginio Rutter, after a full pre season may be ready to become a regular for Leeds and after they’ve signed him for a club record fee, they would be backing him.

There’s a good chance that this is the last season Bamford is at the club and it will be a big surprise if he stays on until August.

In other Leeds United news, a Whites player has a potential offer on the table and could seal his permanent Elland Road exit this summer.
