Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford could return v West Ham

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford could return against West Ham for their FA Cup clash on Sunday.

According to reports from Yorkshire Evening Post, the Whites striker has a “strong chance” of returning to action.

Leeds will also face the Hammers in the Premier League clash next week, but first, they will battle it out for a place in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.

Leeds United

Huge boost

Several key players returned to action for Leeds first game of the year in the 3-1 victory over Burnley.

The likes of Junior Firpo and Diego Llorente started the game, while Dan James recovered from an issue with the adductor to score the winning goal against the Clarets.

However, the return of Bamford is a massive boost for Marcelo Bielsa.

The number nine, who was hailed by Jurgen Klopp as “exceptional” has missed as many as fifteen league games so far due to an ankle injury.

Leeds, however, are missing two of their key players in Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper, through long-term injuries. Both are not expected to return before March.

Pascal Struijk is also out injured, and he is being monitored on a daily basis. Rodrigo is also absent at the moment.

Joe Gelhardt has done incredibly well in the absence of Bamford, and the youngster could get another outing in the FA Cup clash on Sunday.
