Leeds United still in hunt to sign Adama Traore amid contract stalemate
Victor Orta remains determined to bring Adama Traore to Leeds United with his contract situation at Wolves precarious, according to TEAMtalk.
The 26-year-old has not yet started a game for the Black Country club since Julen Lopetegui took charge during the World Cup break but he has made an impact off the bench.
His contract at Molineux is due to expire at the end of this season, meaning he could be available for free in the summer unless he suddenly changes his mind and stays in Wolverhampton but he does want to remain in the Premier League.
Leeds United are not the only Premier League side looking to sign the player who Barcelona manager Xavi described as the “perfect winger” when he signed for the Blaugrana on loan last season [Sportskeeda].
Antonio Conte is ready to rival Jesse Marsch as he hopes to bring the Spanish international to Tottenham Hotspur and add further potency to their already star-studded attack.
Here we go again
The sirens are going off, Traore has been linked to Leeds United and the transfer window is now officially underway!
Every single window, this rumour comes up and it has clearly never amounted to anything but this could well be a totally different story with his contract stalemate running on at Molineux.
Orta may decide to wait and make him a free purchase in the summer rather than opt to spend big in January to sign him, especially as Wolves would surely want to keep him to boost their own survival bid this campaign.
Lopetegui may well refuse any outgoings whatsoever, Traore or otherwise, this window anyway having only just taken the reins following Bruno Lage’s dismissal and the troublesome spot they currently find themselves in.
But if the opportunity does come about to sign Traore, then Leeds have to do it whatever the cost because he frightens the daylight out of any defender who comes his way.
