Leeds United starlet Sean McGurk shows huge generosity after U23s victory
Leeds United have been instilled with the right morals by Marcelo Bielsa since the Argentine joined and it seems to have filtered down to the youth ranks too.
The Whites’ Under-23s dominated their Premier League 2 game against Liverpool on Monday (7 February) but the most impressive moment of the night came well after full-time.
18-year-old Sean McGurk came off the bench at half-time to replace Nohan Kenneh but he saved his standout moment for in the car park after the game as a young supporter approached him.
He not only greeted the kid with a beaming smile but also took him round to his car where he opened the boot and provided the supporter with a brand new pair of Adidas boots he had with him.
Mark Jackson, the Under-23s manager, will have noted this brilliant act of kindness and it will stand him in good stead for the coming matches.
Leading by example
It’s a small act in the grand scheme of things and McGurk will hope that it isn’t the headline moment from his time as a Leeds United player but it is no small impact.

The vast majority of players are happy to stop for selfies or sign autographs, to then walk away and get on with their jobs which is fair enough.
They aren’t contractually obliged to even do that but it’s perceived as the bare minimum within football.
For McGurk to do this though is going to a whole new level of generosity and it shows the impact Bielsa has had on the entire club with his humility.
That young fan will remember the moment he was given a pair of boots by McGurk for the rest of his life and it won’t be forgotten by anyone at the club as he develops further because he could be a future captain of the club.
In other Leeds United news, the latest developments at Elland Road means this player won’t play against Aston Villa.
