Leeds United star Stuart Dallas blows Matthew Upson away
Matthew Upson was blown away by Leeds United ace Stuart Dallas in the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Northern Irishman started and nearly scored against Spurs, but he couldn’t help his side in the end.
However, Upson speaking on BBC 5 Live, was very happy with what he saw from Dallas, and it is just a shame that he ended up on the losing side.
He said: “Whenever I see Stuart Dallas play, I look at the position he should be on the line-up, but then I see him pop up in midfield, arriving in the box. He can play anywhere; I don’t think he gets enough credit for how good a player he is.”
A good display from Leeds.
The Whites have had a slow start to the season, but they appear to be back to their best performance-wise in the last two games.
However, they haven’t had the rewards from those performances and have only picked up one point.
In the first half against Spurs, the Whites were the better team by a long way, but whatever Antonio Conte said to his side worked, and Spurs blew Leeds away in the second.
Dallas was one of those who was excellent in the first half but maybe slightly faded away as Spurs pressed and put the Whites under intense pressure.
Ultimately, though, if Leeds keep playing like that going forward, they should be absolutely fine.
This was just a game of two halves, and ultimately, that extra quality in the Spurs team shone through, but Leeds made it a brilliant match to watch.
