Leeds United star Klich mocks referees after controversial VAR decision
Mateusz Klich took to Instagram to share his thoughts surrounding the controversial incidents that took place during West Ham v Leeds United.
Sunday’s (January 9) game sparked huge debate with the Hammers opener wrongly allowed after VAR showed Jarrod Bowen was offside in the build up.
The midfielder openly mocked the decision made by the referee and VAR on his Instagram story after the defeat.
The standard of English referees is laughable. How can the supposed best league in the world have the worst refereeing standards? Its ruining our game.
The bottom line is the Whites were not good enough yesterday but if that first goal is correctly disallowed, it changes the whole tie.
The worst thing about the decision is that it isn’t even close. Bowen is one of two West Ham players offside and then goes on to interfere with play when Illan Meslier went for the ball.
VAR was introduced to help the referees and for the first part of the season the Premier League officials looked to have learnt from how well the Euros was officiated.
But a catalogue of errors has found the referees under massive scrutiny in recent weeks.
There are clear rules that indicate right and wrong. The refs have to remove their enormous egos from the decision making or the fear of overturning one of their mates’ decisions.
They are threatening the integrity of the game.
